Varminter Stocks

Varminter stocks from Shurley Brothers offers a wonderful gap between the smaller Sporter stocks and our Lowrider family.  This stock is suitable for every hunting situation as long as the shooter can handle the extra weight.  The Varminter stocks feature a larger 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 inch rounded forearm that is equally suited for bi-pod or bag shooting.  Varminter can also be fitted with sporter style cheek pieces and even full rollover Monte-Carlo options.

All Barrel Sizes

The Varminter stock can handle all barrel sizes from a #2 contour all the way up to a 1.250″ straight contour.  Making this stock a wonderful choice for all shooting applications. If building a varmint hunting rifle, we recommend cutting your barrel channel at 1.350″ for added cooling with all barrels.

Versatility

Carbon Fiber stringers, multiple forearm contours, wide range of barrel compatibility all make this family of stocks a stout choice for any game or sport shooting.

Target Audience

The Varminter stock performs well in nearly every discipline with the exception of high level benchrest competiton. We have had customers use these stocks for tactical competition, varmint hunting, as well as long range Elk and Sheep applications.

Varminter Examples

For your viewing pleasure, please notice below a few pictures of various Varminter stocks.  Some of these are finished stocks available for sale and some are customer builds already delivered.

Laminations

Nearly Every stock built at Shurley Brothers Custom Rifles is a laminated product.  This ensures strength and rigidity throughout many years of shooting.  Most clients like their stocks to be of similar wood colors like Wenge and Walnut or contrasting woods like in this example to your left.  This is Walnut with Maple.

Product Feature

The Varminter stocks can also be dressed up with nearly every option one can think of for their hunting stocks.  This example to your right is a stock built of straight grain Walnut but features a wonderful contrasting Maple forearm tip.
